For donors

Fund a relationship during the window that matters most.

The Alberta Initiative is a $180,000 campaign. Every dollar funds the training and support that makes a church placement possible. The campaign closes December 31, 2026.

Why give

The math is straightforward. The impact is personal.

Two-thirds of people released from Canadian correctional facilities reoffend within two years. Harvest candidates reoffend at 4%. The difference is not a program innovation. It is a community that was trained, matched, and stayed.

The annual cost to incarcerate one person in Alberta is approximately $181,500. A successful Harvest placement does not just change one life. It changes the math. Twenty successful placements return an estimated $3.6 million annually to Albertans in avoided incarceration costs.

Your gift funds the infrastructure that makes that possible: the training program, the candidate vetting, the matching process, and the ongoing support that keeps church teams engaged. Harvest is lean. Every dollar is accountable to outcomes.

The campaign

Alberta Initiative 2026. What we are raising and why.

The campaign has two funding streams. Church training fees cover the direct cost of equipping each partner church. Major donor gifts cover the launch infrastructure, operations, and leadership that make the entire initiative possible.

The $60,000 launch capital target is achievable with as few as three gifts at the Founding and Restoration Partner levels. Every dollar beyond that threshold accelerates the timeline and extends capacity into the next cohort of churches.

The church training stream is designed to be self-sustaining over time. Major donor gifts make the launch possible. The model makes it last.

Accountability

What you can expect from Harvest.

Harvest is a lean organization. We do not have layers of administration between your gift and the work it funds.

Documented outcomes

The 4% reoffense rate is not a projected figure. It comes from seven years of tracked placements. Harvest measures what it claims, and shares those measurements with partners.

Direct reporting

Partner donors receive direct reporting on the campaigns and placements their gifts support. At the Restoration level and above, that reporting is personal and specific, not a generic newsletter.
